2015 was a very successful year!
S’Û was on the playlists transmitted by BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 6 (England), RTÉ lyric fm (Ireland), RTVE Radio 3 and Radio 4 Nacional España (Spain), Alza il volume and Battiti Radio RAI 3 (Italy), Vrije Geluiden Radio 4 (Netherlands), Eesti Raadio (ER Public Radio Estonia), Mundofonia (Spain), RVJ (Radio Video Jazz), WNYC, and WMUC WFMU (United States), with special programs dedicated to Paolo Angeli on Vpro (Netherlands), Deutschlandfunk (Germany ), CSR rete 2 (Swiss National Radio), and Club de Jazz (Spain), on the prestigious Tiny Desk Concerts in NPR (US), and on many other national and independent radios. The crossover nature of Paolo’s music received enthusiastic reactions in jazz – Europe Jazz Media selected S’Û among the best albums of 2015. Similarly, his album was among the Top 20ies in the World Music Charts Europe (in March), and it was reported as one of the best albums in the field of progressive rock (SquidCo, Psycanprog). The Solo show at Tiny Desk Concert was selected among the best fifteen concerts of the season. The live concert in São Paulo was transmitted by SescTV. Further, the album received innumerable international and national reviews, including the 5 Star review on Allaboutjazz, New York City Jazz Records, Salt Peanuts, Blow up, Citizen Jazz, El Periodico, Diario de Noticias, Los Andes, Rockit. There were also many reports in different magazines and blogs.
It was indeed by sharing music with people that Paolo Angeli experienced the year 2015’s most intense moments: traveling and playing around the world, giving concerts in Argentina, Brazil, USA, and Europe, always departing from the port of Barcelona (his home) and landing in Sardinia (his root).
