Paolo Angeli ‘SOLO’ is one of the leading events of the 17/18 season by the prestigious Carnegie Hall whose reputation is accompanied always by a transversal nature of its programming, from classical to popular music. The biggest stars in the history of past century - Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Maria Callas, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Billie Holiday, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and David Bowie – played in this legendary concert hall built in Manhattan in 1891.

Scintillating and intoxicating melodies from Turkey, Sardinia, and India transport audiences. Omar Faruk Tekbilek is one of the foremost interpreters of Sufi, folk, and contemporary music of the Middle East, while Sardinia-born Paolo Angeli fuses jazz accents on to the music of his homeland. There is also be a celebration of Indian classical music with sarod master Amjad Ali Khan. From the island of Sardinia, Paolo Angeli draws on the folk heritage of his homeland, adding elements of jazz, early music, and other genres to create an intriguing sound that is hard to categorize. His instrument, a prepared guitar with multiple strings and pedal-controlled effects, becomes a veritable orchestra.
